Castles and chateaux visits in France

France is well known for his various chateaux and castles and one of the core areas people think of the Loire region with fabulous castles such as the Chateau Chenonceau, but what many people do not realize is that there are many different the palaces and chateaux that surround the capital city of Paris Ile de France region.

However, perhaps the most well known of all the historic buildings France is the Chateau de Versailles that is situated just outside of Paris and the type of the castle is such a grand scale that you really need to put in a full day on a side to appreciate them in the fullest.

In fact, the Chateau de Versailles is one of the largest castles in the world and is one of the most visited sites France with its French architecture on a grand scale. Plus Versailles galleries history with many masterpieces and the largest history museum in the world, but it is only a part of the castle open to the public!

But one of the most popular room at the former Royal Palace is the 75m long Galerie des Glaces, known as the Hall of mirrors and this is where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, which signified the end of World War I.

But the garden designed by by Andre Le Notre, have also become the most famous in the world and has around 1,300 fountains, jets and waterfalls to use water pumped from the River Seine, a vast amount of sculptures and statues, plus the formal garden to explore. And a weekend from April through September there are fountain shows for all pleasure.

There is also another show held at the Chateau de Versailles and again set called the Académie Equestre du spectacle, plus you can visit the restored 17th king century stables, home to the beautiful horses that are the stars of the show.

But enough of it to the palace, lets take a quick look at Another beautiful castle France, called Chateau de Chantilly, which can be located in one of the largest forests near Paris and wide that it covers property around 7,800 hectares, more is not as well known as the Chateau Versailles.

Now, anyone know you have enjoyed the Louvre, I love the museum history paintings at Chateau Chantilly, as it is classed as one of the finest museums in France and the only one besides the Louvre with 3 paintings by Raphael.

And also in the Chateau de Chantilly Conde Museum is holding a book in the room that contains about 30,000 volumes, including 1,500 manuscripts and the most important collection in France, with this castle also contains a very rare medieval manuscripts in the specimen from the former the11th century.

Andre Le Notre also designed the Chateau de Chantilly garden and castle is the largest expanse of water in the Grand Canal is roughly 2.5 kilometers long, but another garden that is designed to Andre is located at Chateau Vaux le Vicomte.

You can even rent an electric golf car to get around the yard or take a trip to Canada when visiting restore the great Chateau Vaux le Vicomte and French chateau has a horse driven carriage museum, which houses a unique collection of 18th and 19th century carriages, including an exhibition dedicated to Andre Le Notre in vaulted cellars.

They even hold candlelight visits, specific themed activities for children and from March to October at the fountain show held twice a month, which is a spectacular sight, especially when you consider that the fountains are still the same gravity fed way as they are in the 17th century!

Whatever you choose to visit French castle, you will not be disappointed and other stately homes around Paris all of have different offers including the Royal Chateau de Fontainebleau where you can feed large flush and have a tour of the property in a horse-drawn carriage or the Chateau de Sceaux where they hold classical music festivals and outdoor summer operas.

The Château de Compiègne is another return to castle has three different museums including the Museum of Transportation, which displays exhibits of past bicycle road trip from the right by the first electric and steam engine cars, models and some very rare items on display.

Just make sure you choose a dry day to make the most of it, but please do remember that the majority of chateaux and castles close at least one day a week, which is usually on a Monday or Tuesday!
