Darker than black - good Anime created by Tensai Okamura
This volume is really good for a rental and can present a decent entertainment night. Darker than Black number one is an effective start to what we hope will be a very good series. It is interesting enough to lure viewers back to extra, and guarantees to deliver. The main 5 episodes can be slightly odd location, but the premise is solid and appears to have potential. If nothing else, it is price for anyone Yoko Kanno home and a bit action.
The stars vanished, replaced by new stars may be by some way related to individuals who develop supernatural powers. However, this power comes with a worth, and pay this individual is known as contractors. Ten years later, the general public has no knowledge of the contractor, however crime syndicates and shady business authorities are more than ready to use such uniquely talented individuals. Among the contractors, one of the vital and powerful secret is the enigmatic Black Reaper, possibly behind a rash of murders and may have an agenda of her own.
Regardless of how the order might play out, one aspect's awesome is the trendy, seventies-crime drama feel. Now putting seventies and trendy in identical sentence may seem to be an oxymoron, but there's something very retro-cool about this series. A big part of it is Yoko Kanno's music. He injects a great deal Isaac Hayes-type of cool in his score. Sticky police detectives and can do an anti-hero is taking a dangerous route and asking questions that unwanted coupled covered palette and retro rating is the perfect recipe for a collection that appears in the past to find a cool within the present. It is not Cowboy Bebop, but The feeling was like great.
Everyone wants to know what happened 10 years ago, and the line between authorities and companies crime syndicates are beginning to blur when the same contractor used to try to solve the mystery. Intrigue and espionage abound, and somewhere between center of all of them at the fringes is Hei, a contractor working for a syndicate.
The main story arc, which introduces Hei, is most fulfilling, and actually provides a good definition of a cloak-and-mouse-seventies-flavored crime drama. The story is tight and fast moving. Hei is the way over his first appear to be, and it's hard to let you know what he's up to. He is no heart he bluntly contractor claims to be, or is it a potential contractor can disguise a conscience? The second story arc issues slows down a bit and it explains more than one thing, but definitely not tip its hand on the big picture. The final episode begins with a new bow, and looks promising, with the introduction of additional contractors and the implications a little history.
Too episodic in nature, Darker than Black number one offers two full story arcs at the beginning of a third. Every arch raises more questions, but only provides some answers. This is not an important thing to Randy, but it requires some attention to shut some parts. It is not never hurts to do some work as a spectator, until the work pays off later. In some ways, Darker than Black which begins in the middle, explaining the beginning by the system. The audience shares the identical boat in almost all the characters, we all are a bit clueless related to the mysteries of Hell's Gate and why the real stars are gone.
