Is there such a thing as Real Wrestling?

I still remember the first time I heard it was fake. I was six, and playgrounds and summer school. A friend and I were talking and we started talking about wrestling when other kids jungle gym said "Wrestling € ™ s fake." statement my brain is made with a confusion that persisted for many years to come. It is just impossible. How could it be fake? I see them bleed, hear I scream it, and I see them go through the table and such. So I said the most logical answer I could think of, "No it is not, "Boy, I retorted. He said that if the wrestlers are the moves they actually kill each other. Disregarded the claim me as a child stupidity and went about my life. Throughout the year there are of course many references made to wrestling being fake. I attributed it to adult cynicism. Like how it's crazy that none of the adults believe in Santa or Magic. As I got older it became increasingly easy to see how everything is done. By many sources on the internet it slowly unravel before my eyes. It left a strange feeling in my stomach. I dreamed of going undefeated an entire career and holding each title. Soon I began to put to compromise. Well perhaps they could have undefeated wrestler, I just can not handle all the titles. Maybe I'll have one loss, then I'm a legend. Maybe some losses, but only because they cheated. I compromised more and more until I realized I had lost when they need me and win when they need me.

When I first found out I was afraid it would scare me away from wrestling. I never grew up watching fake wrestling. I grew up watching real wrestling. Only when I found out it will be fake. How does this affect me? Knowing how my childhood ideals of honor fake affect how I saw products mainly defined who I am. But every week I find myself constantly tuning in, and I found myself equally entranced by it, but a newer way every week. I appreciated it as much, but now in a different way. Soon I appreciated it more than I ever was. The skills required to do some of the moves are fantastic, let alone the skills necessary for anyone to do it and tell a story with them. How to use The big moves in conjunction with small moves, and vice versa. How a story is started, progressed, ended, and transitioned is something I can appreciated, and now I even apply it to wrestling. It is really amazing. I am in love with a product that really is not even the same thing I fell in love in the first place. I am looking at from two different angles. Two different perspectives, and yet I still wanted it more than anything else come. I guess it's almost more of an accomplishment when you can go out there out there and prove yourself that way. I mean anyone with a sense can go and be unbeatable if it really is. To go out and there is the best in a world where there are people who try to hold you down, where you have control a lot of things that impact your career, where the words you use, the way you do the calculation movement in the ring, and even lost the way You can determine how successful you can be. To live in the world and still call yourself the best, which takes some doing.

Now obviously everyone here loves it. We understand the athleticism, and skills required to do the moves properly. We know the little intricacies that make a punch with a punch, and a bump on a bump. We know why the little things that happen. Now, why not others? Wrestling is the worst reputation of just about anything else in the world. Somehow we got right up there with Nazi's and pedophiles. Even the way it seems. People look at us We like idiots when we tell them we like wrestling. Think about it. When you tell someone you like wrestling for the first time a few things may occur. First, they go "cool," and then have it. Two, they say "No way, I too," and you have a new friend. Three, they go "You know wrestling's fake right?" or some variation of that phrase. They say it like it is the first time we heard it in our lives. And the way they say it .. That condescending tone in their voice. Like they know their big secret. Like they figured it out by their self. They say it looks so fake, and how dumb it is. Let's face it most of the people who criticize them for being so "obviously fake" does not have a damn clue if they do not hear it on TV or if the father has not told them when they were still watching Barney eight in the morning. Wrestling's been worked for a long time, but there are certain circumstances where they just fight. It was in the early 1900's. So let's say the modern professional wrestling industry began with Orville Brown being the first NWA Champion in 1948. In case that 90% of people who are not involved in the wrestling business had no idea it was for the fake a good 45 years. Explain that jackasses.

We know all this, and yet when we try to explain it we start to sound like idiots. We try to tell them how much skill it takes to lift a 250-pound person, and then they tell the other person jumps. Well yeah they do, but what exactly the trick is holding them there? We try to explain and try to make people understand how difficult it is, but they have one trump card to be stopped almost any argument about it. They just say "Well it's fake," and they're right. Then they pull crap that it is almost impossible to return from this. It's hard to sound convincing telling someone how hard is something when you admit it's fake. And if you deny it fake you just sound like a doofus.

After a word. "Fake," some will argue just how accurate the description is. We know the outcome is determined, so it is fake. Right? Well we should run down the list of the damage these people have to suggest otherwise. Hulk Hogan does not have a plastic hip because it is "fake." Shawn did not leave the business for four years because it is "fake." Mick Foley is losing half of his ears, most of his teeth, and can barely walk because it is "fake." Chris Benoit did not kill his family because it is "fake." The danger is real. These are clear, and they are present. They were landing on a trampoline. The grimace on their face when they land is more real than you know. Try and see how many children are permanently disabled because they were screwing around in their backyard. There is always a chance that something will go wrong, and when you put on a show 300 days out of the year something is bound too. Now before I move onto the next section should I ask the people refrain from using the Owen Hart tragedy as an example of how wrestling is "fake," the accident has nothing to do with a match. While we are on that topic anyway, I want to remind everyone that there are people out there who think Eddie Guerrero and Owen Hart were sipping Pina Coladas on a beach somewhere. That is part of extent of blur is wresting.

Watching wrestling with someone who would have been even worse. I am over a friend's house, and he had a friend over, and adhesive friends girlfriend was there. He did not like wrestling. I was really just the wrestling fan in the room, but the other guys they at least understood. They cool. So I tell my friends SmackDown is about to come. He says I can I change the channel. I walked over to the TV. and he asked "What do you 're gonna watch "," I of course replied, "Wrestling." That elicited this response, "Ugh, oh my God." She's lucky he's girlfriend of or he has friends like ran out of teeth. The whole time I was watching he stopped speaking. Benjamin cuts a promo. "Graham how long it takes the wrestlers have to memorize the lines, oh my god she did not even touch him, it's so fake. "It comes from a girl who always had his either nose stuck in a Twilight book, or some half assed manga. I got my fantasy world, and he's got him. But for some reason he's got to declare war. It is really admire how people can be disrespectful for no reason. Calling them actors, saying there may not be moving hurt anyone. Tell someone you watch wrestling, and they go "Why do not you watch UFC or something like that?" Show of hands, how many of you watch MMA in addition to wrestling. Most of you, at least occasionally. And half the people say can not tell me what MMA stands. Hell site This MMA news reports, I do not really understand, but I do not question it either. Do not get me wrong I respect the hell out of most MMA fighters. If you take noisy with all the little punks who have not done anything with all life except get drunk and get fights in the street and then you have some of the greatest Athletes in the world.

I do not remember who said it, but I read once that a wrestler said "For someone who does not believe there is no explanation do, and for a confident explanation is not required. "Where will that leave us. We obviously are not believers, because we know wrestling is a work, but you can call us non-believers, because we love this sport. Yeah, I call it a sport. I do not care what Vince call it, it is toughest thing on the planet to do. Lawrence Taylor said he wrestled fraud after fraud Bigelow that wrestling is like playing a football game every night, and that's exactly what they are doing.

I do not know what the real reason is that I love it. The talent, the moves, the characters, the story, the fans cheering. I can not explain it. People tell us it was fake, and we do not care. As arrogant as it sounds I think in a sense it is jealousy. You have actors play characters Lost, and then the actors go on Dancing with the Stars. Not the characters from Lost, the actor. If you do not watch wrestling watching actors. You are watching the very same People see you walking down the street. That's what makes it really, that's what makes us a uniquely different subculture. Different from any kind of worship Star Trek, or comic book convention, or play D & D session. You can not last in our world live without it. hear passion which some of the veterans talk about it, and that's true love. They mean every word of it. It's got to be some kind of magic. This is what entranced us as children, and study made us adults. We will continue to seek a "Hell Yeah," It is what makes us ask if you can smell what we're cooking, this is what will always make us round our wrists and our ear cups, and leg drop a cushion sofa in our living room, and why we are forever swagger, style, profile, and WOOOOOOOOOOO on top of our lungs until the day of death us. We are wrestling fans, and we always will. We have not only ashamed of us have for others who are jealous of.
