What if I say in plastic containers containing PVC?

I am about to put the mayonnaise jar-sized batch of old silver coins in a chocolate shells store (instead of a more pronounced once hiding place) but just came across a recent article warning about a chemical reaction between silve and PVC. How can I tell if a plastic container is PVC? Is there some sort of symbol or marking on the container with PVC, PVC even if not constitute the entire contents of the plastic? Was found in PVC food-grade plastic? Here is the article I found: http://coins.about.com/od/caringforcoins/f/pvc_damage_faq.htm

PVC is used in food packaging applications. The reasons are: a) does not exhibit good transparency, which is usually preferred for eating. b) It requires a plasticiser to overcome his stiffness, and the plasticisers tend to be oil-soluble, lead them to being leached out by food. c) It tends to be unnecessarily high costs for a product packaging, and over-engineered for such an application. You can tell if a material that is made from PVC by looking for the SPI codes stamped onto it. PVC for the SPI code is usually "recylcling" triangle with A number of "3" in it, and the letter "V" below. There is no natural reaction between PVC and silver. However, PVC may be poorer quality made from vinyl chloride monomer with the residual hydrochloric acid present, and it often end up in the polymer. The cost is miniscule but they can subsequently react with metal surfaces to give a slight tarnish. It may, however, can be easily polished off.
